Well, it's been awhile and much water under the bridge but Michael and jess finished the Camino in good order and are on to other things. I've returned home and Jess has continued her travels. We finished the Camino 35 days after taking the first step and can say that we really loved the trip, the walking, the conversations, the food, and the spirit of love and affection we found along the way. We met wonderful people, enjoyed great times, and were, by and large healthy, at the end. (I have decided, however, that I do not find refugio's enjoyable, while jess does.) Must love my creature comforts a bit too much!
We walked into Santiago in a bad rainstorm, not the way we had imagined it, but good non the less. We got a hotel room and spent some time eating tapa's, drinking beer and celebrating with those we met along the way. I then went to Salamanca and Jess headed for Finestera. She completed the 3 days walk and then met us in Salamanca. We also met up with my wife's brother who was walking the camino route that goes through Salamanca and he stayed to relax a few days before continuing on.
A few days before returning home I got the bad news that my older brother, Patrick, had died of a sudden heart attack and so I've been busy being present to family and friends since my return.
Thanks for all the advice and encouragement along the way, I'll try to stay in touch with the forum in the future... I love reading about others adventures so I may lurk more than post.
