RER ticket get me to Montparnasse

I arrive in Paris on May 31- and plan to start from SJPP on June 2. My problem is I'm not certain of the RER ticket will be good all the way to Montparnasse or if I need to buy a ticket for the metro at either CDG or Rocherau Denfert. Does anyone know? I've tried googling this- but was unable to find the answer.

Hi!

Reaching Gare Montparnasse by means of the RER and the Metro is not that easy and requires a transfer to line 4 or 6, although the ticket bought at CDG is good all the way.

A simpler and less cumbersome way is to use the Air France Bus Service Line 4.
See all details here: http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/fr-F ... france.htm

Cheers,
Jean-Marc

Try this website... http://www.ratp.info/touristes/index.php?langue=en I purchased my ticket at CDG Terminal 2 and it costed me 8.50€. You can travel to anywhere in Ile-de-France (Paris city center) with that fare. I took the RER B from CDG Terminal 2 and stopped at Denfert Rochereau, transfered to Line 6 (direction towards Charles de Gaulle-Etoile) and stopped at Montparnasse-Bienvenüe (also check this website, about half way there is a section called "Arriving at Montparnasse from Metro", the photos and information could be of some help finding your way from the Metro station to the TGV station inside this huge subterranean complex) http://parisbytrain.com/tag/montparnasse-bienvenue/ The whole trip will take close to an hour...

GoonerPilgrim,

Thanks that site Paris By TRain is excellent...esp. with photo's etc. I'm still in the early stages of planning for next year...so I'm weighing (and pricing!) all my options. This site is a great help.

Buen Camino, Karin :D
