Hello everyone,

I am starting my Camino from SJPDD on July 1. Originally, the trip was going to be two of us. We had decided to reserve Orisson and Roncesvalles in advance but, otherwise, reserve day to day based on other threads on this forum. Now we have two other people joining us in Pamplona and continuing on. I am thrilled they are coming but this does complicate the bed situation a bit. What are your experiences on finding beds for 4 people together this time of year? Some things about us:
1. We are flexible as far as budget and location. While we would prefer private rooms, we can also do albergues. And if my feet are ready to stop for the day but all that is left is a more expensive hotel, I would pay for it.
2. We aren't on a timeline- we get as far as we get. We will start early in the day because of the heat but we do not plan to move particularly quickly.
3. There is only 1 of us that will still be walking by the final 100 km. The rest of us need to go back to work :(

Given this information, what advice do you have on booking in accommodations in advance? Does anyone have experience in doing this with a small group?

Thank you for your advice!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I walked in a group of four but it was in Sept/Oct 2015 so this info is not current and not for your timeframe. However, I do want to say that it was a good number for walking. We had no problems with accommodation. It was surprising how often albergues had rooms with just 4 beds and because we were a group of four we were given these rooms if they were available. We rarely booked ahead. Just walked and took it as it came.
Buen camino to all.

Do you all have to sleep together? You might want to discuss options for not being glued together. This would increase your accommodation flexibility, and might be a good break anyway!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I’ve walked with four kids, a husband, a father-in-law and a brother-in-law.
No trouble on the Via de la Plata - and the Frances has even more options. You sound so flexible it will not be a problem.

Thanks for the feedback! Separate lodging is something I hadn't thought of but something we could do if necessary.
