Hi all,

I walked saint jean pied to logrono in 2019 and im flying over to walk from logrono to finistere in October. Just wondering is their still restrictions for Abergues regarding Covid, or is it back to how it used to be beforehand.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

I walked the Frances last September.
Absolutely no problem with albergues.
They were well organised re covid risk.
Some were closed but plenty of beds for the reduced numbers.
I will start walking the Portuguese on September 2nd and don't anticipate and problems. I never book ahead.

Covid is still with us. As of this summer there are no real restrictions in bed space. Masks are not required in albergues, but you will still see many people with one on on the streets, in stores, etc.. If you test positive you need to wear a mask, but you are not really restricted in movement. As a courtesy, you will want to isolate yourself from others by staying in a private room and not coughing and sneezing in a bunk room with others. In Spain you need a mask on any transportation (cab, bus, train). Test kits are available at pharmacies at a low cost. Wearing a good fitting mask until you test negative will help keep it from spreading.

If you test positive, do you still report to the local government?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I'm going to close this thread as albergues are back to full capacity (no restrictions) and you no longer need to report contracting Covid to the government. But of course, everyone please still be wise and exercise common sense, as pilgrims are still coming down with Covid, and should isolate and stay in one place until they feel better.
