Return Santiago to Paris end of May 2016

Sanabres spring 2024
I am planning on walking the Camino Frances starting in St. Jean Pied-de-Port on April 18, 2016, finishing at Finisterre in late May.

Getting to St. Jean: I'll be flying from Los Angeles to Paris, then my plan is to overnight in Paris, take the TGV train from Paris-Montparnasse to Bayonne, and then my first question is how do I get from Bayonne to St. Jean? Train, bus, combination, or taxi?

Getting from Finisterre to Santiago: I have read on this forum that there is a bus from Finisterre to Santiago, how often does it run, and is it easy to get a ticket?

Getting from Santiago to Paris: What is a good route or plan to get from Santiago to Paris? Would it be possible to get to Bayonne, take the TGV to Paris-Monparnasse, then catch my return flight from Charles de Gaulle to Los Angeles? Is there a train from Santiago to somewhere where I can transfer to a bus to get to Bayonne? Or bus all the way from Santiago to Bayonne, or something else?

Thank-you!

A guide to speaking Spanish on the Camino - enrich your pilgrim experience.
Jim,
Since return into 'the real world' after walking the camino is always a shock another slower transport solution is to ride the daily RENFE train from Santiago to Irun/Hendaye connecting with a SNCF train to Paris. Booked from SdC a few days before desired departure that long train ride across Spain is truly a sentimental journey as it passes through much of the countryside recently walked on the CF. It leaves Santiago roughly 10 am each morning.

Happy planning and Buen camino!

There are two options from Gare Bayonne to SJPdP
- SNCF TER operates train to Cambo les Bains and bus onwards to SJPdP
-Transports64 operates buses to (811) St Palais where you transfer to another (810) to SJPdP

Empresa Monforte (Monbus) operates buses from Fisterra to Santiago. As far as I have been able to determine you purchase a ticket at the bus stop or the kiosk across the street and reservations are not available.

As Margaret pointed out there is Renfe train service from Santiago to Irun/Hendaye and SNCF train service from Hendaye to Paris. If your train terminates in Irun take the Metro Donostialdea (Euskotren) from Colon station to Hendaia station which is colocated with Gare d'Hendaye.

Renfe also provides train service to Barcelona and SNCF from Barcelona to Paris. The time for travel via Barcelona or Irun is about the same.

There are flights from Santiago Airport to Paris offered by Vueling. There are also flights to Madrid, Barcelona, London, etc where you can get onward flight to Paris. See the destinations link on airport site.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
