Returning to Porto

Time of past OR future Camino
Portugal, starting in Porto in October of 2018
4 of us are walking from Porto in October. We will be arriving in Santiago on October 13. We are wondering about the best way to return to Porto on Sunday the 14th? Do trains and buses run on Sunday? Any suggestions?

A guide to speaking Spanish on the Camino - enrich your pilgrim experience.
Spanish bus company ALSA Santiago to Porto, about 20 euros, 2/3 times a day, takes about 4 hours, hope this helps, regards Bob.

I had problems returning to Porto. We couldn't get info/help buying tickets so we ended on the bus to Vigo and Taxi to Porto. Cost us almost as much as sleep and food for the entire walk.
There is a (train or bus?) office next to the Cathedral, the queue is not big but it moves very slowly. At least an hour of waiting.
I couldn't load internet sites on my phone and translate the one that did load so I couldn't find the timetables and ticket prices.
The people working at the bus station and train station didn't 'know' anything and didn't speak English. Spanish don't know (and don't care to know) the timetables outside of the border.
Try to get tickets as soon as you get to Santiago or before if you can do it online somehow.
Honestly, I was so pissed off, how hard is it to put a piece of paper with timetables for pilgrims that are going back every day.
Edit: oh and don't rely on "easy to go back" and "xy buses every day"... when you get there it turns out there is only one and it left half an hour ago.

You can take a train to Vigo and then from there, the Celta train to Porto.

There is bus with Alsa to either Porto airport or the bus station/interface near the "casa da música" metro station.

It's the same bus to Porto. After leaving Santiago bus station( a 15 to 20 minutes walk from the cathedral) it stops in Vigo at the busstation, the airport of Porto and at the metro stop Casa da Musica and the music hall with the same name.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
