The experience of riding the Tube and relying on the posted maps to find your current location and how many stops/train exchanges till you arrive at your destination is often comforting and can at the same time confusing. On occasion, the use of colors for various routes can assist. Then again, considering I am colorblind for red and green, I can become disoriented. What I don't miss is the odor from arm pits and garlic.
Good to see Eburacum on the map, though a 200 mile trudge down the A1 to Londinium doesn't appeal.
I was in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican once, and inset into the floor are brass plates to indicate the size of other cathedrals and how they would fit inside St. Peter's. The plates are inscribed in Latin, so it was fun to work out what was what. I couldn't find York, because we long ago took it from the Pope, but Novum Eboracum was there, which took me a second or two to work out.
