Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Good to read your account and thanks for the really good information.
I am thinking about building a ‘special’ bike for a trip from the uk to SDC. I note your comments on disc brakes and have already decided to keep the old vee brakes as I have never had a problem with them but have lots of problems with discs.

Interested that you had RS shocks. My RS Reba shocks have a service life of 50 hours so am looking at using ancient set of ‘pogo stick’ shocks. They have done ten years with very little attention so if I give them a service they should be ok.

On average how many hours a day did you do?

What times of day did you ride and did you have a long stop at midday?

Any night riding and did you take lights?

regards
michael

I'm sorry but my English is rather basic. I apologize for the errors. I'll try anyway.

First, thank you. Glad that you find interesting blog.

It is the first time I have problems with the brake disc. There have been many miles of rough terrain with saddlebags and I have never had any problems. It is the first time.

In my travels I have used several forks. A very basic in the first bike, a Rock Shox acceptable July2 with 13,000 miles, and recently I have changed by the Rock Shox Recon 351 that I have now. A better fork, better feeling. Now under more comfortable and faster. I've never had problems with any, with normal maintenance.

The number of hours cycling depends on several factors such as soil type, the accumulated slope and places to visit. I do not worry much about it. You can see it in detail at [url=http://zinaztli.blogspot.com/...naztli.blogspot.com/2010/08/de ... tapas.html [/ url]. Soil leave early and make the stage that I have planned. About 50 miles if the terrain is hard and its easy 80-90. In Europe it should not stop later than 17-18 hours to find a place to shop or dine.

In some cases, if I find a good place to eat, stop at noon, but I do not usually make long stops. I prefer to make short stops and reach their destination. I try as far as possible not pedaling at night (only in unexpected situations). I have no lights.

En mis viajes he usado varias horquillas. A mejor horquilla, mejores sensaciones.

Prefiero hacer paradas cortas y llegar a destino. No llevo luces.
