Time of past OR future Camino
I walked the Camino France last year 2015, in may/june
I am still trying to find out where to get credentials and route maps etc for the route de LA Lana from Alicante to Burgos, can anyone help please?

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Norman- there is a subforum to this forum that covers the Ruta de Lana. There you will find, as usual, much useful information. I have been researching this route as well and the subforum was helpful.

If I could figure out how to do a copy and paste on a mobile device I would provide some useful links instead of sending you on your way.

Buen Camino.

Haven't seen any information on that yet. So far I only managed to find 2 kml overlays (Ruta de la Lana 1 and 2) of the route which I tested on Google MyMaps. Putting both overlays together I've got Villena (not Alicante) to Burgos.

Not sure how well the way are marked but nice of someone to record his(her) route. Just a gut feeling, you probably want to carry a smartphone for this walk. Download Maps.me (free) and also the offline map of Spain (also free). Then sent these 2 kml overlays via email to yourself. Open both eml attachment on the email app of your phone. It will automatically load them to the Maps.me app. Works for iPhone or Android.

It will require GPS but if you have a local SIM card it will use the cellular network to determine where you are (way faster than GPS). That way you always know where you are or when you have diverted from the track. Won't get lost (except maybe from Alicante to Villena). Here are the two overlays from my Microsoft Onedrive account.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
You can pick up a credencial from the local amigos in Alicante on Wednesdays or Fridays at their office near the centre of town (5 Calle de Serrano). The person who gave me mine was amazingly helpful and enthusiastic (he had 19 compostelas, I think), and rang ahead so that hospitalero Paco Serra knew I was on my way to his albergue at Novelda etc. http://www.encaminodesdealicante.org/solicitud-credencial

And there are quite a lot of wikiloc etc maps for the route.

Buen camino
