San Pedro de Arlanza

Staff member
I am hoping to walk the Lana to Santo Domingo de Silos and there transition over to the San Olav to get me into Burgos. @VNwalking has given me some great suggestions for taking some alternative paths that look spectacular but will get me to the same place eventually.

One of those paths would go past the monastery of San Pedro de Arlanza, now in ruins but being rehabbed. I have seen some of the romanesque paintings from its walls in the Metropolitan Museum in NYC and would really like to see that monastery. I have seen a lot of contradictory information on the web about whether it is open during construction or not. Does anyone by any chance have any up to date information on whether it can be visited?
