Greetings from Santa María de Eunate everyone!

As most of you are aware, the church has been closed during the winter months. I am posting to let everyone know that we will be re-opening to general visits next weekend, on Saturday 24 March, in anticipation of the start of Holy Week, and will have with fixed daily opening times once more through the end of October 2018. A lot has been happening and the team of volunteers who look after Santa María de Eunate has been working very hard all winter to prepare for the re-opening of the church.

Here are two ways those of you who are coming to the Camino and planning to visit Eunate, or those who just want to keep up with what is going on at the church, can keep up with the changes and events at the church:

1) Visit the church's official website at the following address: www.santamariadeeunate.es It is in Spanish, but we are working on the launch of an English-language version of the page in the coming months.

2) If you're on Facebook, we have an official Facebook page for the church. Look for it there with this address and click on the "Like" or "Follow" buttons in order to see our posts in your news feed: @santamariadeeunate.oficial.

Please note: In order to get the word out about the church's reopening to as many people as possible, I'm posting the opening times here, but these are the places where news about the church, particularly changes to the opening times, will be published if they occur, so I strongly urge you to check in on the web page and the Facebook page before detouring to visit the church when you come, in order to avoid possible disappointments and frustrations!

ACCESS 2018

The opening of the Church of Santa María de Eunate so that it can be visited over several months, as well as maintaining its surroundings and the expenses of all kinds that the opening brings, requires a great effort on the part of the parish of Muruzábal - which has just under 300 inhabitants - as well as the small group of volunteers that serve it. It should be noted that the church receives no subsidy or financial assistance from any entity or official body whatsoever.

For this reason, as of May 2017, we have been asking visitors for a small donation in the form of a ticket they must obtain in order to access the Church. The amount collected is destined in its entirety to maintain and care for the Church; care for the church's grounds and installations; and improve the facilities and services we offer to visitors. In this way we will be able to better preserve the church as a patrimony for future generations.

ACCESS WITHOUT GUIDED VISIT

• Individual ticket: € 1.50
• Reduced ticket: € 1.00 (pilgrims with credentials and groups of 20 or more)

Tickets, stamping of pilgrim passports and consultations at Casa de Onat, building next to the church.

ACCESS AND GUIDED VISIT

We require all organized groups from travel agencies, cultural associations, pilgrimages, parishes, schools, universities etc., request a reservation for their visit to the church at the following email address: visitas@santamariadeeunate.es

For roups of these characteristics wishing to arrange a guided tour of the church, the parish has a service of professional guides who can explain the history of the temple and its architectural features. The costs of guided visits are the following:

• Individual Guided Tour: € 3.00 per person.

• Groups up to 25 people: € 75.00 per group.

• Groups of 26 people or more: € 3.00 per person.

The guides can offer visits in Spanish and English. Other languages, consult availability at visitas@santamariadeeunate.es

ALSO: If you are passing by on Sunday, 25 March there is a Mass for Palm Sunday scheduled for 12:00 p.m. in the church.

God bless, all!
