Santiago Cathedral: Construction

Does anyone know when the repairs are scheduled to end on the cathedral? My past two Caminos have showcased the wonderful scaffolding, but I thought maybe it would be nice to get to see the actual bell towers on my next Camino

There have been several news reports in the Spanish press about this, and the consensus seems to be that the scaffolding will be off in time for the next Holy Year, 2021. I was wondering the same thing. That's a long time to wait for my 5th Camino. OH well, scaffolding it is.

Same for me. I will go back in 2018 for my third Camino and was hoping it would be done. It was there in 2014 and in no way did it diminish the bittersweet joy and sense of gratitude of having completed my pilgrimage. The sight of it was overwhelming.
