Santiago - Fisterra - Muxia - La Coruna

Hello - I start from St Jean on 14 September and had planned to take it fairly steady, have booked a flight home from La Coruna on 24 October. I know there is a bus from Santiago to La Coruna.

However, I am now thinking I might manage to walk to Fisterra and Muxia, if I keep a reasonable pace. Is there a bus from Muxia to La Coruna? I think there is one from Muxia to Santiago, I know there is one from Fisterra to Santiago (if I head for Muxia first, then Fisterra). However, it seems a bit daft to take that when I have to depart from Santiago to La Coruna probably almost immediately after.

Does anyone have any information, please? Many thanks

Autocares Vazquez look like they have one direct and one indirect bus a day.

This just caught my eye and I thought it worth commenting. There is one direct bus from Muxia to A Coruna and there is one which drops you off on the main Cee - Coruna road and from there buses are frequent. There are more from Fisterre and several from Cee.
What I DID want to suggest - to anyone who just can't stopping walking and has plenty of time - is that you consider WALKING to A Coruna! There is a direct trail all along the Costa da Morte some of which I shall be waymarking to the Little Fox. It consists of Yellow and White parallel markers. Almost all is coastal and along the cliffs and beaches. I have walked bits of it and it is simply ESTUPENDO! You would pass through Ponte do Porto which was the original landing for Muxia from the sea (Ria de Camarinas). I would be very happy to help you in any way I can, and of course, would love to meet you here at The Little Fox House in Carantona (2.1 klms from Ponte) should you wish to chill for a few days.

If you consider taking the Santiago, Muxia, Fisterra route there is a bus from Fisterra to A Coruna at 15:45 daily (except Domingos & Festivos) arrives in Coruna about 19:00.

Love your suggestion! I'll be back in Galicia in the autumn and now I'm looking at ways to stretch my available time.

Priscillian, yes!! I would love to do that! Great idea! Once your in Muxia you just don't want to stop walking.

Here is a wonderful powerpoint which follows the Costa da Morte (with a few short inland trips). All of these are within an hour (by car) from where I live. Some are right on my doorstep! How lucky I am. I´d be happy to share them with you and tell you some of the fascinating stories associated with them. A few "dark and stormy night" tales too!

Yes you are lucky, I'll be in Galicia at the beginning of July and I just might turn up to hear your stories . Today I'll make a long walk in sunny Stockholm just trying to get in shape, on Thursday I start my next Camino from from Somport so I AM LUCKY TOO !!

I too am walking to Fisterra and then flying out of La Coruna (direct service to Heathrow is handy). Unfortunately, not enough time to walk!

If I am am reading this correctly, (my Spanish is quite poor) there are several buses a weekday from Fisterra to La Coruna:

You are reading it correctly! The company is well known and provides services on a number of routes.

You can take the same bus to BAIO and then get off and change for Santiago. The bus goes via Zas and Santa Comba and is about 6.50 if I remember right.

ok well it's 10 years since you posted this and well over that since my first camino..but walking from Muxia to A Coruna is what I hope to do in Aug (Porto-Finisterre-Muxia-a Coruna-Santiago). Can we connect on this should you have the time?
