Santiago in South America

We just returned from a trip in South America and I would like to share 2 pictures of Santiago. The first one is The Patron saint of Santiago de Chili in the cathedral. The second is a representation of El Matamorros in the cathedral of Cuzco (Peru);

There is another Santiago 'Killer' in Peru - Santiago Mataespañois - killer of Spaniards!
An indigenous uprising in 19th-century Peru adopted Santiago as its champion, using the "Matamoros" iconography that in Peru had come to be associated with a pre-Columbian deity who drove out evil forces.
In the Museum of Pilgrimages, Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain

And also, in Mexico City there is a carving from the altarpiece of the Church of Santiago Tlatelolco showing him as Santiago Mataindios - the Indian-slayer.
