They say "You can't go back again". Well I just did. This time I was driving. I had intended to fly but my passport and Tarjeta de Residencia mysteriously disappeared the night before. As it was, I drove 1180 kms in 14 hours. Boy, was it worth it! I finally got to see the Botefumeiro, after three previous vists. I even walked on the roof and with much trepidation, actually sang a Kyrie in the Cathedral just as they were closing (make it "muy rapido", said the Sacristan!): wonderful! Even driving this time (and I took in the Camino Primitivo and the Route from Padron) I felt the magic, but no little envy for the Pilgrims I saw walking.
Good luck and Buen Camino to All of You. By the next Holy Year I hope to fulfil a long held dream: a refugio for pilgrims to regroup AFTER they have finished. (Need funds: any millionaires out there? Promise Purgatory Bypass!!!)
