I am doing mini camino from santiago to finesterre in June. Should I book albergues and has anyone got any recommendations

Gronze.com shows accommodations. Many are municipal, so cannot be booked. For private places, booking may be advisable as it will be becoming busy when you are going.

As for food in Negreira the Cafe Bar Imperial has a very tasty and copious menu del dia. Here is their web--http://www.barimperial.es/cms/. The friendly barman/owner is English and his wife Spanish. Years past at lunch in winter I was often the only other woman in the place, but they graciously made me feel at home.
It is a good, simple place.

This was a place I stayed in just after leaving Santiago. (Thanks again to Tincatinker here for the post on my thread with this information) It was halfway between Santiago and Negreira at a place called Castelo.

It's a private albergue run by a man called Julian and his hospitality was exceptional. I'm planning on returning there this year as well.

I slept out a lot along this route due to municipal albergues being full a lot of the time and me not having that much money to afford some of the private albergues that did have beds. Although I did stay in a great place in Cee along the waterfront and I would definitely recommend a night there if you get chance.

That is so useful. Thank you for the recommendation. Do you have the name of the place in Cee as I couldn't find the Albergue on the Waterfront?

I'm almost sure that's the one:
https://www.gronze.com/galicia/coruna/cee/albergue-moreira
At least that's the only one very close to the waterfront as I can remember.

But maybe @Playful Dread meant the one which is listed in Corcubion although it's on the border (which is non-existent for us but is closer to Cee center than to Corcubion) between the two towns (look at the map for location):

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

No you're right the first time Kinky! That's definitely the one! I was just searching for it on Google Maps as I didn't have the name for it! But yes, although it was just slightly set back from the waterfront it had a great view, was very clean and had the best showers I'd come across since leaving Porto! I slept like a baby that night!

One thing I will also say is that when I arrived in Finisterre and walked into town I received such a greeting from locals and fellow pilgrims. It was really heartwarming. I didn't expect fanfares of trumpets or choirs of heavenly angels singing to me on reaching either Finisterre or Santiago. But my experience felt much more reserved in Santiago than it did Finisterre.

If you get chance check out the World Family https://www.facebook.com/theworldfamilyfisterra/ when you get there.

Moreira. But don't expect water views from the dorm on the ground floor.

Lucy I am walking the same route in June and wandering about going to muxia first or to fisterra . The issue of transport back and which town is best served is a sticking point. Buen Camino

More options leaving Fisterra, but I love ending on the boulders by Santa Maria de la Barca rather than in a tourist hot spot.
