Camino del Norte 09/23
Hi. My name is Chris, and my wife and I will be doing the Camino del Norte in September this year. We are thinking of hiring bikes ones we get to Santiago to cycle the Portuguese camino in reverse to Porto. Has anyone done this, and if so do you have any suggestions/tips for us. We would be very grateful. Buen Camino and thanks.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Thank you mspath. That did cross my mind, I thought maybe if we did the costal route and kept the ocean on our right we may find it easier.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Chris3,

Finding yellow arrows going the opposite way is not easy .
December 2011 after finishing a CF I walked alone from Santiago to Tui/Valenca.This backwards blog might help you.

Good luck with your planning.
However/wherever you do go Buen camino!
A very smart way to be able to see incoming bikes. In October 2022, walking Tui-Santiago it was harrowing due to the kamikaze cyclists 🚴 🚴‍♀️ 🚴‍♂️ who never announced themselves. I was a rodie 🚵‍♀️ before I became a 🚶🏽‍♀, accustomed to cyclist etiquette around walkers, and every time they whizzed by, I cringed, especially when I almost landed in the ditch several times. Ah, the good old days…

This is one of the easiest routes to follow in reverse, as you simply follow follow the blue arrows that are heading to Fatima. Why stop at Porto, you could follow all the way to Fatima.

Thank you Hughb: unfortunately we are time restricted otherwise we would. Do the blue arrows take you on the coastal route?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

No central. But if you want to follow the coast. Sea on the right. Yep. Going the correct direction!

Can't miss Porto.

Bom Caminho

You could also try and look for blue arrows. The blue arrows point to Fatima, but north of Porto they also point to Porto. :)
