Hi am planning to fly into santiago then onwards to sarria in the afternoon of 25th April, any suggestions about travel to sarria and also accomodation in sarria etc. Am starting my walk next morning 26th thankyou

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I think that you have to take a bus to Lugo and in Lugo to take a bus to Santiago.

Buen Camino & Ultreia!!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Sarria? Matias Locanda!! Calle Mayor 4 up near the top. Warm welcoming hosts great Italian food with vegan and vegetarian options. Their hostel is pretty standard, nothing to write home, there are nicer places along Calle Major to sleep in Sarria about but I love the place-did I mention the food?!!!?. Welcome to 1966!

Bus timetable from Santiago airport is as follows:
SANTIAGO AIRPORT ARRIVE LUGO DEPART LUGO SARRIA
12:45 12:55 14:45 15:20 15:55
16:00 16:10 18:05 18:35 19:10
18:30 18:40 20:30 20:45 21:15
20:00 20:10 21:55 22:00 22:35

You can pay on the Empresa Freire bus from Santiago airport to Lugo bus station (about €10). You then have to change buses in Lugo bus station onto the Monbus bus to Sarria. You buy the ticket at the Monbus desk inside Lugo bus station (about €4).

Alternatively you can get a taxi from the airport to Sarria which costs €130.

In terms of accommodation would suggest the Pension DP Cristal (www.dpcristal.com) or the Albergue Don Alvaro (alberguedonalvaro.com).

Perhaps we need a bit more information. Why are you bringing a case?

Am taking a small backpack for the Camino and need the case for a coach tour after I leave Santiago back to Madrid just looking for somewhere to leave my case while I do the walk

Ah. There are lockers at the Lavacolla (Santiago de Compostela) airport - and I quote from the airport website:

Left luggage
In order to hire this service you must first go to the information desck on floor 1. The left luggage is located on the 4th basement floor (-4) of the general car park. It has medium-sized lockers. The rate is €5.80 for a full or partial day.

That is a euro or more than getting your bag transported each day on the camino.

If it were me I'd be minimising my clothing for the coach trip and carrying it with me in my backpack. I have spent six weeks touring Europe with only my camino clothing.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
You can get the bus from the main Saintiago bus station. An alternative to leaving your bag is to have shipped each day. The best value at the moment is the Spanish postal services called Correos www.elcaminoconcorreos.com/es/transporte-mochilas.php . They have a fixed fee for the Sarria to Santiago leg of €20.

Where is the bus station in Santiago please am leaving my case at the hotel while I walk from sarria to Santiago so I need to get the bus to sarria

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Its a little bit out of town. GPS coordinates are 42.887170, -8.533961 You can use these on Google Maps to see where the bus station is relative to your hotel.
