Camino Frances- July 2022
I will be starting my Camino from Sarria in less than 45 days. My first Camino ever and a huge step for me to do solo. I‘m looking forward to meeting new friends on this journey. This forum has been a huge inspiration for me to just do it.

I know I can get my first passport stamp (sello) from my albergue in Sarria.

I am wondering if anyone knows of a place in Sarria, Pilgrim office and/or church etc., that would be special to have as my first one. I’m a history nerd so oldest church, oldest bar/ cafe is the stuff I love. I want the first stamp to hold a special memory for me as I walk the Camino that so many have walked before me.

Thank you.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
The address in Sarria of the church of Santa Maria is rúa Maior, 65. The church is usually open late in the afternoon.

I often stayed nearby at the private albergue O Durminento, rua Maior 44.They offered a very tasty communal meal, the beds/bunks were comfy, and reservations accepted. Some private rooms are available.

Nearby the shop Peregrinlteca, rua Benigno Quiroga 16, is a handy place to replace gear.

Buen camino!

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Just for fun my friend & I asked the passport control officer at the Madrid airport to give us our first stamp last month. He was happy to do so & you could tell they rarely (if ever) get asked to do that. His colleague bragged that he was originally from Leon & was tickled to here we were starting in Ponferrada. Not exactly the answer you were looking for, but a neat story. Buen Camino!!
