Sarria to Muxia April 2020

Finally here it is my last year doing the Camino (or this camino). Unlike previous years where I walked in balmy August/September I am walking in April starting in Sarria April 12th.

If anyone has walked this stretch in April would appreciate any advice regarding weather as I assume my usual ultralight gear might not suffice and that I may finally get to use my poncho after 3 years. Have plenty of gear which I use in Ireland which is a bit heavier and may be more suitable based on videos I have seen.

Welcome Hugh, it was into May before I got that far but it was still wet and cold at times.
Layers and good wet gear IMO.

I have walked in April perfectly dry and I have walked in April when "fountains of the deep burst forth and the windows of heaven were opened" making Noah proud! No politics mind you, but the weather is a'changing and one year has no relevance for the next.

Here in Galicia you can get anything in April: cold, warm, rain, sunshine ... often all in one day ;-)
