Scarpa footwear question

Stivandrer

Perambulating & Curious. Rep stravaiging offender
Time of past OR future Camino
I´ve got Camino plans until 2042,
- or till I fall flat on my face, whichever comes first !!
...does anyone know how the soles on Scarpa Mojito Hike boots/shoes rate in terms of stiffness.
I have to change brand and have to weigh different qualities against each other...

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Morning Stivandrer, I'm a Scarpa fan and have worn their boots and shoes for three years and many miles. With that said, my experience has made their Zen model my favorite. The Mojito, again in my opinion only, is a casual shoe for local wear. When I walk, I want the Zen, because as a rule, the Zen stands up to the 500 mile, 6 month rule, much better than their other models. With that said, my hiking shoes for our upcoming Camino will be Salomons because, well, they feel like "butter".

Pretty stiff, and they are very heavy - or at least the ones I set out Canterbury to Rome in (sorry, can't remember the model). In fact, I abandoned them in Fidenza in favour of lighter Salomons, and got on much better.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
Thnx for info.
I could with a bit stiffer sole as last time around, I could feel the the potatosized rolling stones going down after the Pyrenees, through the bottom of my Hanwag Rotwands , and my old feet get a wee bit tired on the side of 30+ kms.

When I was a rock climber in my youth Scarpa climbing shoes were among the most narrow. But for climbing it's what you actually need ;)
But in comparison between Salomon (my all time best) and Scarpa hiking boots the later are definitely more narrow and also much more stiff. That's all I can add.

Hi, Stivandrer....

The Mojito is not really designed for hiking, distance walking, backpacking, etc. It is more of a hybrid -- for casual wear which can also handle travel tours, day walks, and hanging around.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Ooh - I don’t want to hijack the OP but I also have a Scarpa shoe question.
I’m female with a long narrow foot and have worn Scarpa mens for all of my caminos to get the length I need.
Recently I’ve tried to buy them again in Aus but have only been able to locate Goretex models. I prefer the Scarpa Zen PRO or the Vortex. Can anyone advise another brand that would offer similar specs (narrow male shoe, non goretex, suitable for long distance). That might narrow down my search.
Many Thanks if anyone can help out.

Hola, Grace :)

I'm sure @davebugg might help on this. Or any other Scarpa afficionado. I'm with Salomons for too long to really remember others ;)

@gracethepilgrim I also walk in Scarpa men's. I have the Peak GTX and I love them. I wouldn't be put off by the Goretex, they aren't hot and sweaty at all (I walked in the heatwave this past August so I have thoroughly tested them). You just need to clean them with tepid running water and a soft brush sometimes to keep the Goretex breathable.
