Search going on for French pilgrim

I heard this morning on the local radio in Galicia that there is a French pilgrim missing since Saturday, and that there is a search going on to find him.

From what I remember from the report, he was 71 years old, French, and is missing on the stretch going into Laza.

If you are in the area, please keep an eye out for this man.

Saludos from 100km wind and rainy Santiago,
Ivar

It seems his name is Paul Viand, the photo above was taken a few days ago.

More on this here from El Correo Gallego.

Good news!

They found him (at the Cea albergue today). It seemed like he had taken the train a stretch and had some foot problems... but otherwise he seems to be in good health.

More here.

Saludos,
Ivar

That's good news ivar. I remember once in France, just after some very bad weather on the Aubrac Plateau, a cafe owner asked us about a pilgrim that the police were looking for. The problem, was, they were asking about Madame --------, and we had to say to the cafe owner that we all used first names on the Chemin- which is usually a very un-French thing to do, but says something about the communal bonds amongst all the walkers. I hope they found that person OK as well.
