Seeking updated albergues list open in winter 2018

In 3 weeks time I will begin from SJ P de P . Is it possible to get a list of albergues that will be open late October/November ? I know that the pilgrim office at SJPdeP will provide me with a list when I get there ,but it would be helpful to have such list before I travel to help me plan a bit.

You will be starting just a little too early for this to be much use for your first week but this website is usually running from November and is updated with current news of places which will be open.

I updated info on ALL albergues on the Way (facilities, prices, opening times) a month ago for my website on the Camino. The web is for cyclists, but general info is the same for everybody regardless of means of transport. I used the blue font for albergues so you can easily find it on the page. I believe that it is pretty accurate, however, don’t rely only on one source (neither Eroski web nor leaflet you will get from Saint-Jean-Pied-du-Port is 100% accurate). I hope that it helps

Just because cyclists take cycle lane to Pamplona I didn’t list two albergues: in Trinidad de Arre (basic, but very positive, opens from the beginning of March until mid-December, 8 Euros) and albergue municipal in Villava (open whole year round except for Christmas and New Year; 13.50 Euros). Both are in close proximity to Pamplona. Huarte may have A4 on the door with “Cerrado” written on…I wouldn’t count on that one.

When I was thinking about your winter Camino I remembered that between Ponferrada and Santiago there is a different route in the winter (passes Las Medulas!). The route is apparently scenic and it is called Camino de Invierno (The Winter Way). The route avoids climbing O’Cebreiro that it is impossible in the winter time. I mention it just in case because I didn’t know that Camino de Invierno exists until recently.

It's one of my few windows of opportunity as I'm a child minding grandad who is free at midterm breaks
Unfortunately I don't get to do the lot in one go,so this trip is 10 day walk.

@roamingpaddy this is a very solitary route - how is your Spanish? It has some pretty hefty elevations, and long distances between villages, with few services. I have not attempted it, but for more information (including a video) see this section of the forum.
