My wife and I are looking at walking Le Puy to Conques in July/August. We plan to use a tour operator offering an unguided tour option (Hotel, meal, baggage transfer). We speak very basic French.

I'd be grateful for recommendations of operators to choose or avoid.

Thank you

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi James
Don't know where in the world you are but have a look at UTracks who offer many self-guided options on the French Way. They are very adaptable and you can tailor any trip to your requirements.

I'm sure that you will get many more options but this is a good start to have a baseline to compare with. UTracks is the European arm of World Expeditions who have a good reputation. I haven't travelled with either company but many of our friends have done several trips all over the world. Unfortunately, none on the Camino.

Good luck with your search.

Thank you. We're in Sydney, Australia and have used World Expeditions so I'll check out Utracks.

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
If you can read Norwegian www.merlot.no offer what you are looking for, Le Puy - Nasbinal and Nasbinal -Conques is part 1 and 2 of their pilgrimsroadpackets. On my last walk there I met some people using this company who were satisfied with it. It is about 1200 euros for each person, so by booking yourselves you can stay at the same hotels for half the price.

I'm not sure if they offer Le Puy tours, but we used CaminoWays on the Francigena and they were very good.

I am going with Macs adventures in August, they seem very well organised and were recommended to me by people who have used them on the Camino France's.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
