Hello All,

I am a newbie here.
I have 2 weeks.
I am completely overwhelmed by all the options!
I would appreciate suggestions.
Travelling from a Eastern Canada
Getting the certificate is not a must for me in SDC.

Thanks All!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Hello Tamtam…..also from Eastern Canada. Welcome to the forum! Would recommend walking from Porto up to Santiago on either the coastal or central route of the Camino Portuguese. A really good all round introduction to walking the trail, lots of variety, no crazy peaks to cross and very well signposted with good services available for pilgrims on the journey. I am repeating this Camino next month on the central route but starting out on the coast out of Porto (see map). Will take me just under two weeks to walk to SdC. Buen Camino !

I agree with Martin 888 that The Portugues from Porto is an excellent choice, probably my first, for a two week first Camino, for just the reasons he shared. Especially if you want to end up in SDC.

If you don't need to end up in SDC this Camino, you could also start at SJPdP or Roncesvalles and walk for two weeks. Then, if you are moved to do so, you can continue in a future year.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I agree that the Portuguese route from Porto is a good choice for a two week Camino.
It has the advantage that it's possible to fly right into Porto, thus saving a day of travel to your starting point. And also, since the majority of pilgrims on the Portuguese route start in Porto or after you will meet a lot of other pilgrims who are just starting out like you.

I concur, with the suggestion of the Portuguese for a first Camino!

This was my first Camino in 2017!
I absolutely love it, have so many great memories!

I also remember feeling quite overwhelmed when first starting to research potential Camino routes!

I had a little over 2 weeks, as I knew I wanted to reach Santiago and have the option to continue to the coast!

I arrived in Porto before I started and enjoyed a full weekend exploring the city!

As mentioned, the Portuguese has a good balance of terrain, scenery and infrastructure!

Look at routes that may match any interests you have, food, history, nature, religion?

I would opt for the CF from Leon, which is easy to reach by train from Madrid.

Buen camino
