Hi Lindor,
hope 2nd jab has gone well and you’re ready for the remainin 40 days! I have booked at the new “Albergue Borda” for the 31st, so will climb the hill after a long days travel by train.
Weight loss programme (failing poorly at present) but work in progress.
Walking, so far so good, thigh recovering from a little tumble but it will be good. Biggest walk so far just under a marathon at 40km, most of the time it’s a 15 - 20km and at about 4 kph on average. So probably foolish in thinking I should be OK with the physical aspect, although the ‘day after day’ bit will be challenging I’m sure.

Oh wow, you are getting a lot more training done than me. I do 10km pavement walking most

Vaccine went great, thanks. Got it a week ago, and didn't even feel the needle OR get sick afterwards.
Oh wow, you are getting a lot more training done than me. I'm walking 7-10k most days, but that is just mostly flat pavement walking around my town, and is probably not enough.
I was supposed to be kicking up my hill-training, planned to do a 15km loop (twice a week) in the Galtee mountains, which luckily are located only 20mins drive from my home in Ireland. The highest point is Galtee Mor, approx 900metres high, so it really gets my lungs gasping for breath lol
Supposed to have been doing it twice a week for the past 3 weeks, and have been there twice in total recently
. Life just keeps getting in the way, but hopefully will get to stick to my schedule for the next 5-odd weeks left before we go. I do go hiking in the hills fairly regularly, so hopefully that will stand me in good stead walking the first few days.
40k walk? That is a fairly long stroll. I think I would collapse if I attempted that.
Your first days walk will be tough after a long train journey, but hopefully excitement and adrenaline will push you up theat hill.
I will look out for you on the path. Buen Camino
*EDIT*- Sorry, I quoted Bob's post twice, and don't know how to fix it. Oops
