Shipping items home from Santiago

Time of past OR future Camino
Camino Frances May 2022
My husband will be meeting me in Santiago next week and we’ll continue elsewhere in Europe for another few weeks. He’s bringing other clothing and items of mine with him. I plan to throw/give away several things I’ve carried with me in my backpack, but there are a few items like my trusted sleeping bag, etc… that I would prefer not to get rid of. Is there a UPS, DHL or FedEx store or dropoff location in Santiago? Or would it be best just to use the Spanish mail service?

Thanks in advance!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Shipping personal items internationally can be awkward. From what I remember working for UPS a long long time ago fedex/ups/dhl don't ship personal items in Europe, and require customs clearance documents. Your best bet may be a luggage forwarding service, e.g.

Edit
Can't say if Correos can help with personal items. Do ask if anything special is required to ship/receive your own stuff to the US

On our first camino we used Correos (on Rua do Franco) to send home some clothing and walking sticks. When sending a package of used clothing/sleeping bag etc. to the US write: "Used Clothing" or "Used Sleeping Bag" etc on the outside of the box and they will be duty free. If I remember correctly there is also space on the form you must fill out to note that the items are used and being returned home.

It's simple. Go to any post office and buy an international box that's the right size, fill out the forms and send it to your home address.

Just be sure that you state that you're returning the things you brought with you to your home - then there are no customs issues.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
