Planning to walk September 2019
Hello all-Just when you think you have things figured out, there's more to contemplate! I will be traveling post Camino to France and Italy. I am only walking to Burgos. I'd like to bring a bit more clothing so I'm not relying on my hiking gear to be my wardrobe for 2 months. I'd like to bring a suitcase on the plane with some additional clothing items and have it shipped from SJPDP to Burgos where I intend to end this first walk. Does anyone know if this is possible? I don't want to ship my suitcase each day from one town to the next but rather have it waiting for me at the end in Burgos. Are there other methods that anyone has used? thanks!

Correos has a service for pilgrims called Paq Peregrino

If you will have a hotel booked in Burgos ask them if you can have your suitcase shipped to there. That would be more convenient than having to go to the post office to pick it up.

If it were me, I'd simply go shopping in Santiago.
Lots of great shopping there when you get out of the tourist area.

As others have suggested:

1. Use Express Bourricot to get your items over the Pyrenees to Roncesvalles.
2. From Roncesvalles, use the Correos to ship your items to the reserved hotel in Burgos.

NOTE: The first post office is not until Zubiri IIRC. The Correos may pick up at Roncesvalles though. I do not know. Perhaps someone else can assist here.

I am travelling in Europe before my Camino so I have packed my hiking gear and pack inside my suitcase...I am flying into Madrid and leaving the suitcase at my hotel. The pack and I are travelling by train to Leon to start walking and the hotel is happy to store my suitcase until I get back to Madrid. ( I have to catch a train from Santiago to Madrid). This makes sense for me as I am flying in and out of Madrid. I am having to pack fairly light to make it all fit in 1 suitcase, and with only a large handbag as carry on 😬
