silk sleeping bag liner: Browint XL or Lone Wolf?

I'm deciding between the Browint XL liner, available on amazon for $64 US and the Lone Wolf Special Edition liner, available from the treksilk website for $50 plus shipping. The Lone Wolf ships from Vietnam and takes a few weeks, the Browint is available on amazon prime right now and could be here as soon as tomorrow.

Both are silk, wide (I feel claustrophobic in mummy bags) and very lightweight.

Does anyone have any feedback specifically about either of these bags? or another comparable recommendation to share? I'm walking from SJPDP in early September and plan to carry a liner and lightweight blanket instead of a full sleeping bag.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
If one has an elastic side panel, that would be my choice. My perfect sac would have elasticized side panels AND a pillow cover attached.

I did order the TrekSilk and was happy with it.
I bought it für €34 incl. P&P.
It is durable and very lightweight and it will come with me crossing the Alps in 3 weeks.

If you buy any real silk liner, try to buy a light colour (grey/silver, nature, white, off-white), all darker colours will bleed, if you didn't wash them 3-5 times before use, maybe ruining your gear / clothes.

This product may be fine, and you can't beat the price, but it is made of "artificial silk."
Yip, TrekSilk offers both, the synthetic silk and the "real deal".
Mine is made of real silk, that's the difference in the price.

I just bought two Browint XL last month, for me and my wife, for CP in early October.

thanks for responding. Do they seem ok? the reviews on amazon say they are very light - is the weight and stitching what you expected? And do you have any concerns now that you have them in hand? Any specific feedback about the items you've purchased would be appreciated!

I used a Ohuhu sleeping bag

I used a Ohuhu sleeping bag, 720g. Currently Amazon has similar model, a bit heavier and its $21. In September/October Camino glad I had it.

i bought a reputed silk liner from Vietnam. When it arrived if was obviously not silk. However it did the job.

I make my own silk sleep sacks.
As wide and long as a twin mattress, and with a separate pillowcase, because I found that the pillow pocket on others didn't allow me to scrunch up my pillow the way that I like it.
It also has a zipper part way down the side, and elastic straps that keep it neatly on the mattress without twisting around me.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
I have always used a thermolite sleeping bag sheet. Only very slightly heavier than a silk liner but it increases the temperature by up to 4 to 5 degrees Celsius. Much better than silk. By using it I have never needed a sleeping bag on the camino (walking in April and as late as September).

I haven't used them constantly yet, it was just tested by my wife. It's ok as a product, the stitches are ok. A full review can only be done after arriving in Santiago, I hope, in mid-October.
I will take it together with a sleeping bag, which together weigh only 650 gr.

You must have incredible patience and excellent skills. I *hate* working with silk…. Many, many, many tears putting silk linings into boned bodices, panelled dinner vests, etc.

It's just straight line sewing, and I use a serger for much of it. Now sewing silnylon fabric - that requires more patience!!

Can I ask what sleeping bag you used?

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
I've used a Cocoon Travel Sheet on three different caminos. It's silk and I sprayed a little Permethrin to keep away any bed bugs. A friend in a bottom bunk get bit, but I didn't nor on any other trip.

If it was warm in the alberque, I would use it a light cover. If cold, I would put a blanket on top of it.

I love the Cocoon as well. Make sure you get the washable silk...it's great to be able to throw it in the wash.
