silver linings of a delayed camino?

I was originally going on Camino levante, this fall in September/October. Due to life, I have had to delay sadly and push it back to next year. I plan on drowning my sorrows in a bottle if wine while watching the Way, this weekend but in the meantime thought I should take a sec, and think about some good that will come of it. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated, as to keep spirits up etc.

1) more time to practice Spanish
2) training - if I can keep it going, I could have a great base

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

My third Camino was a calamity of things going wrong. I tried to keep up with my Camino family but the harder I tried the more injured I became. So I became a taxigrino, skipped forward 10 stages and regained my health at the Parador in Villafranca beside the pool (with the assistance of a great bartender). I resumed walking at Sarria (still three days ahead of my Camino family, thinking I would walk shorter days until they caught up with me). Then I met my future wife at kilometer marker 58. If I had been walking with my Camino family, I would have never met her.

So yeah, I believe in Camino silver linings.

It's may be a variation of your Item 2, but more time also gives you the chance to test everything you will be carrying with you and find out if the backpack is comfortable, if the shoes breath, if the shirts are cool/warm enough... So:

3) Selecting and testing gear.

Are you pushing it to the same time next year, or some other dates?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

That's a bummer!

The silver lining is that you'll have a lot of fun from now until next year enjoying the anticipation and preparing your gear to where you really want it to be, and maybe even living vicariously through others as they walk from now until then knowing all the while that your time is coming and will be here before you know it.

I decided to go again after spending time at home processing the first journey writing stories about the experience, printing a photo book about it, and painting a canvas about my first Camino. You can do that if you want and relish the past while getting excited for the future.

Meanwhile, others will start and complete their journeys, but yours is yet to come. That's a good feeling in its own right, isn't it? :)

Time has a way of taking the brittle edge off and replacing it with a sense of timelessness,a closer intimacy of perception
Closer to perfection.
The immediacy of distance is replaced with the savored joy of reaching your goal.

That's true. I do love trying new gear combinations.

I think so, my other two caminos were both in spring and I though it would be fun to see a new season.

Thanks for all the kind words. Planning is fun, and I do love reading other people's blogs.

I had to delay my Camino for various reasons by about a year. Waiting was hell, but it was worth it. It's hard to see now, believe me, I know, but we walk when we need to, not when we want to.

Stay strong, you'll be on the way before you know it!

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

So sorry to read this AZgirl, although most things happen for a reason. I am disappointed for you, but, as you write - more time to train and get your fitness up to speed. Thinking of you.
