I thought I would share this 110 year view with you guys. I have never been to SJPDP.
The guide that I used in 2003 was from a travel book on Spain and the Only start point that was mentioned
was Roncesvalles - ask any Spanish person where the Camino Frances starts? .........Roncesvalles of course?
All the pics and videos I've seen suggests that it is a great way to start a Camino - Guess I'll have to experience it some day?Ebay 3 march 001.JPG

I've saved the photo and will try to replicate on 23 August 2016!
 
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
That might work just about right if we make the noon train from Bayonne!
