Sleeping bag on the Primitivo this summer

Hello everyone.

After walking the Francés last summer (May-June) and having the time of my life, I've come to terms with my incipient Camino addiction and will be walking the Primitivo beginning in the middle of June. I've also learned from my mistakes on the Francés, but this is one I need some help with…

On the Francés, I'd taken a (rather voluminous) sleeping bag that made me uncomfortably hot. Because I also had a liner, I sent the bag ahead… and not two days later found myself in a situation where I was shivering all night. I then bought a compact sleeping bag that did me well for the rest of the walk, but which was far from adequate on a September camping trip in Ireland -- a bit of info I'm putting in to put things into perspective

I remember meeting some pilgrims who had walked the Primitivo on the way to Finisterra, and being shocked by how large and heavy their packs seemed. One of them explained that it was rather cold in the mountains in Asturias, and it was necessary to come prepared for cold/rainy weather. This is making me wonder if my compact but not-quite-warm sleeping bag will be sufficient on a June Primitivo.

Anyone have any experience?

Hmm, balance the risk of a chilly night, possibly two, and having to sleep in some extra clothing against the additional bulk and weight of a chunky sleeping bag.
I've walked the Primitivo in late May and a combination of silk liner, Albergue blankets and The Beloved kept me comfortable enough :0)

It may well be a bit cooler in the mountains than it is on the plains of Castille Leon but I don't believe a three-season bag is necessary or even a music- festival special.

We did the Primitivo last May and we both had lightweight 50 F degree bags. I was never even remotely cold and slept in my underwear and tshirt. If I were to do it in June, when the temps significantly higher, I would only take a liner. The albergues and pensiones all had low heat at night anyway.

I walked the Primitivo in July of last year and only took a silk liner. I stayed mostly in private albergues, and two or three municipal albergues. Even in July, there were several times that I wanted a blanket. There were blankets available in all of the albergues that I stayed in; sometimes at the foot of the bed and sometimes stacked up where they were easily available. Once I had to ask for a blanket, as they were put away in cupboards.
