Hi

just made a last minute decision to head to Porto and walk the Coastal first week of October .

i want to travel light so was wondering if Albergues supply blankets or whether i need a sleeping bag.

if they have blankets i will take a silk liner for hygene/comfort.

thanks in advance.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Some do, some don't. Where they did provide blankets, some needed to be supplemented in any case. I walked in May, carried a sleeping bag and liner, and used them regularly when I stayed in albergues.

thanks for the reply. seems i should take my bag along then.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Always be prepared, few public albergues have blankets and fewer have turned on heaters. I’m volunteering now in Ribadiso and I see pilgrims with sleeping bags the obviously just bought, strapped to their packs hitting them in the knees. Go prepared, it is hot today and cold tonight.

I took a sleeping bag and turned it into a duvet. I sleep warm and need to throw it off me when I feel hot during the night. It also saves weight and my "sleeping bag reworked into a duvet", now has no zipper and its smaller. I cut off parts of it. I am bringing a very thin sheet to sleep on.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

I completed the full Camino in May with just a liner. It was cool one night but that Albergue had blankets. The rooms tend to heat up with so many people sleeping in them.

Martin64 said he’s going in October, not May. In May the days begin to get warmer. In October they definitely begin to get colder, especially at night! I think a sleeping bag is necessary!

Do I need to bring my own pillow & pillow case for albergues?
Hi, Has anyone stayed in Armenteira recently? I’ve contacted Victor the Taxi to try and reserve a bunk at the Slbuergue de peregrinos. He told me to contact “ Albergue de San Ero de Armenteira”...
