Ok, last question. I purchased a big angus sleeping bag. Its light but requires a sleeping pad for insolation on the bottom. Will I need it? Its a pound and a half I could shed. How many nights do you think i won't get a bed? I am also willing to anti up for a hotel. Bring it or ditch it?

Buen Camino

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Saw lots of people carrying them. Saw them only used one night--after Santiago on way to Finisterra when the municipal alburgue was overflowing. Often mailed back home or donated. All alburgues have sleeping mattresses. I would not carry the weight.

Most tossed item are sleeping pads...followed by sleeping bags...followed by large cotton towels...followed by anything cotton...if you really need a sleeping pad you can always find one tossed on the Camino just about everywhere...personally I would bring something like a pillow for my head before a sleeping pad.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

@Kurt5280, Even a pillow can be improvised, IF you don't get one in an albergue (or even if sleeping outdoors). Fill your sleeping bag cover (BAG??), with your clothes and bingo.. you have a pillow. Sounds fun, doesn't it? Buen Camino :) Caesar

I'd say don't bring it. I never saw anyone actually needing one but I saw plenty left behind in the albergues.
