Just had a message from Sue Kenny:

"Heard from a friend of mine who is walking from Burgos to Santiago to complete the last leg of a pilgrimage journey she started last year. She said there was snow when she got up yesterday morning. Not sure how much there was but in her message she said it was cold."

Brrrrrr.

Snow

There have been reports of snow in Villafranca de los Montes de Oca.
Hope all our peregrino-amigos are warm and safe,

hello from the camino,

of the nine days in the camino, it´s rained 6 days so far, so it´s muddy, slippery and cold! two days ago from navarrete to najera it was non stop rain with rivers of water coming down at you. no way to avoid the water so boots filled with water. you could see the ill equiped peregrinos, using sneakers and keds slipping and falling constantly. the rain was icy cold but thanks to the rain jacket and pants, I stayed drier than those wearing ponchos!

when we got to najera, we could see the mountains tops covered with snow. hope it clear soon!

cool breezes, rain

I am in Carrion de los Condes. I have left an English summer and come to unsettled cool weather. 2 things I did not need to pack- shorts and sun block. I must be cursed with bad weather in Spain. Since Easter every day in England has been very very warm and sunny. It is unbelievable!. There is rain forecast tomorrow. I noticed even in the Costa blanca there has been heavy rain! I too saw snow in the mountains.

Oh well, never mind. I would appreciate it getting a little warmer though!

Buen camino

I know how you feel. Take courage.

Last year I encountered 40°C on the Meseta... I thought I was going to die and I was hoping for cool and wet weather... which I got for 10 days in arow. I then tought how nice it would be to get some heat and sun...........
