Snow in O Cebreiro and in Pajares

Both the Frances and the Salvador have gotten some snow. Maybe Falcon can find the pictures so you can see what it looks like, but I can't. But I've heard that it's a lot more than a dusting and something to be taken carefully.

Be warm and safe, all you peregrinos out on the Camino! Laurie

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

In Arbas del Puerto, right before Pajares on the Camino del Salvador, more than 20 cm fell. That's about 8" and I woudn't want to be walking from Poladura to Pajares in that.

I'll try to find some pictures.

I was at O Cebreiro on the night it snowed and walked down to Triacastela during the day in a snowstorm. It was very cold and the heating was at full blast overnight in the refugio. In the morning there was enough snow for the snow ploughs to be clearing the road and the Cabiniero (spelling?) to be in their 4 wheel drive vehicles to escort big trucks over the mountain. After Triacastela it rained heavily every day except one until Santiago. But let's face it - at the end of October you have to expect anything in the way of weather, and it was all part of another wonderful Camino. And of course I will be back next April, hopefully with no snow on the Pyrennees
I attempted to attach some photos, but the files are too big. The sculptue of the Pilgrim walking head down into the wind, and with the snow on his hat and cloak certainly looked realistic.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Saw the snow in O'Cebreiro on the Webcam this morning, but, surprise, surprise, they even showed O'Cebreiro on our local midday news here in "tropical" Costa Rica today! (By the way, today it's a bit on the fresh side, threats of rain and 22 degrees). I would love to see the snow again!

Those pics are great - there's a certain attraction to doing a snowy camino!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
By the way, for those of you who have walked the Primitivo, you be interested to know that the photographer of those snowy pictures from the Camino del Salvador is Alex from the albergue in Bodenaya.

We have tried on 2 seperate computers to see Alex's photos, but all we get is a name tag.
Is this a site that we need a log-in/password, or is there another reason for our problem?
Advice appreciated from anyone who can see the photos please.

Also the webcam of O Cebreiro was showing almost a white-out at times today. Snow at 600mts, and dropping to 300mts in places, on the forecasts.

Hi, Tia Valeria,

The link I posted above with the Salvador pictures is not unusual in any way, so I don't know what could be wrong. Maybe you should try the general website for the forum, which is http://fsvr1.ibdinternet.com/list.php?6

And then scroll down in the list of posts till you get to "Camino del San Salvador ayer y hoy", you will see the pictures. Alex took the pictures, though, so he is not in them.

He routinely also posts pictures on his facebook page, which you can find on facebook by typing Albergue Bodenaya

Buen camino, Laurie

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.

Great. Thank you to both of you from both of us.

La Faba and Ribadiso on about February 14. Remember sitting on the bottom stair at Ribadiso to dangle your feet in the water?!!

That water level is really up in Ribadiso. Is that typical for this time of year? I remember the restaurant there. The first decent steak I had on the Camino.

La Faba, one of my favorite places to stop on the Camino.

Thanks for the pics Falcon.
