Hi all,
Had the first spam post in a year or so today. I have been monitoring the newly registered users for a few months or so using http://www.stopforumspam.com/ (pasting the members e-mail address in and seeing if I get a hit). There has been about 1-2 spammers regestering per day. The funny thing is that they only register during the weekdays, mostly early morning and mostly with IPs from China.
I get the feeling that these are real people, since my security question that I introduced a while back did not stop them.
Soo.. I have activated the following option in the forum:
... some comments that I have read said that this might slow down the forum (especially posting and registering), so if you notice anything please let me know.
Thanks all!
Ivar

Soo.. I have activated the following option in the forum:
Check IP against DNS Blackhole List:
If enabled the user’s IP address is checked against the following DNSBL services on registration and posting: spamcop.net, dsbl.org and http://www.spamhaus.org. This lookup may take a while, depending on the server’s configuration. If slowdowns are experienced or too many false positives reported it is recommended to disable this check.
