Hi, starting from Porto on October 17..due to airport rules and tight flights, I can't bring my poles. Has anyone stopped at the Decathlon Maia store in Porto for sticks or supplies? Any luck there?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
It is quite a detour from the caminho path to get to Decathlon in Matosinhos.
It is at the other side of the motorway.
Maybe if you take a taxi from the airport to the shop is an option for you ?

Thanks, Albertinho. I noticed there were 2 Decathlon stores in Porto and thought the one in Maia just east of the N14 might be managed. Am staying the 1st night near Metro Maia stop..might be able to take a taxi to the store if not too far. Does this seem feasible? Thanks.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-

Okay. I see it now too. I passed the one you meant by car ,last june.
I did not walk the Porto to Vilarinho trail but the coastal one to Vila do Conde so the Matosinhos Decathlon wasmore familiar to me.
I looked at the map in the Brierley guide and at the app Maps on my ipad and think that it is not a great detour to the Decathlon in Maia.
So ask in your hostal who far it is I should say. It can't be far..
Succes and bom caminho

Thanks, Albertino. I will report back to Forum on the store, supplies, and access. Johnnee

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
@SWPilgrim , you don't need to go to far. You have a portuguese sports store called SportZone, and you have 3 of them in the area of Porto. Here are the addresses:

Sport Zone Via Catarina
Rua de Santa Catarina, n.º 312
4000-443 Porto

Sport Zone Arrábida Shopping
Praceta de Henrique Moreira, n.º 224
4400-346 Afurada Vila Nova de Gaia

Sport Zone Dolce Vita Porto
Rua dos Campeões Europeus, 28 a 34 loja 1,15 4350-149 Porto

Best Regards
Diogo
