I'm not sure if this document has been placed on the Forum before. It is really useful for anyone planning on walking the Route Napoleon from St Jean to Roncesvalles.

The Profile map has been on the Forum many times but will be useful for First Timers who might not have come across it before.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
A great resource,Sil.
I am sure that many will find that interesting. They should print it out and take with them.
However, I would again point out that it is not as bad as it usually is described.
I have done it several times (both Napoleon and lower) and while it is a load...it is very doable.
The difficult part is that it is the first day and unless you have done proper training....

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Re: emergency radiotelephone @ Refuge d'Izandorre

When I noticed the Refuge d'Izandorre at the right side of the camino (on the map at 1300m altitude, just before the Col de Lepoeder), I noticed that there was an antenna on the roof. I was curious and looked inside but there was (almost) nothing in the samll place.
Now I read in the document "St JPP to Roncesvalles-Ron_2012_en.pdf" that the "pretty little refugio is equipped with an emergency radio telephone". (line 17&18).
Nice to know but did someone noticed where the phone is? Did someone already used it?

Thanks Sillydolll. Your a guru again. I haven't seen the first document before. Very useful and has fed my daily pre Camino excitement.

This is all fairly recent and yes I saw the phone when I passed by in July 2012. It's there for emergencies during storms, especially in winter, as a temporary shelter and there is also a place to build a small fire if my memory serves me correctly.
