Hello I had planned to start in March, but now start next weekend the 18 Feb, and plan to go to Santagio the Sanabres route. Staring in Seville any last minute advice would be useful. Last year I did the Frances Rout and also Cahors to S.J.PdP. g10 to Irun and on to Bilbao, so I have a little experience, but advice is always appreciated.

Hole Nalod....oh I'm jealous. This was my very first route and I think it is fantastic. I hope the weather holds out for you but walking at this time as you go through Extremadura and head north you may have weather of all kinds! Be prepared.

Buen camino

John

My favorite route route as well Nalod.

Just heed all the lessons you learned in your previous caminos, and enjoy! Remember for this time of year layering is the best way to go for packing light and keeping warm.

Keep us posted on your progress please.

Go well and safely.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Cheers, I think it is encourgment I need now. Yes I still get that stomach chrurning feeling, THE USUAL AM i MAD, will the lonelyness kill me etc etc. Then after a few days walking --What a Life.

I'll be staring out from Sevilla about 10 days after you. If you have any great advice as you go, please post it here. I feel much, much, much less prepared than I did for my previous caminos but I have the time available so I thought I would give it a go. Good luck to you and buen camino.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Just a very quick update, very little acces to internet I dont have wi fi. Just back from Muxia and Finnisterre one hour ago. Got to Santagio on Tue 32 days then 4 more to Mux and Fin. So far only 2 days of rain. Hot but great. Off to Le Puy on WED from Madrid, to go as far as Cahors I have the extra time.

Will update fully when I get home in April.

We did meet, in the pilgrim dining room at the parador of all places.
Sounds like you had great weather to experience Muxia and Finisterre and then ....Cahors.
Think we did the VDLP quicker than planned. I returned south and walked Granada to Cordoba, quite an experience, Alhambra and Mezquita amazing. Chilled out in Torremolinos. How many photos have you got?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Trev good to hear from you, sounds you had a great trip down south, must do it some day. Good to have meet you after spending 32 days on same trial you 1 day ahead and never caught up till that dining room.

Two days after I saw you I changed my plans and done the French section Le Puy to Cahors took a comfortable 12 days home last Wed night. It really was very beautiful and amazing food. MY ADVICE TO ANYONE IF YOU JUST HAVE 2 WEEKS FOR ANY CAMINO DO THAT LE PUY TO CAHORS SECTION. I have done the full Frances, Finisterre and Muxia, Seville to Santiago and Cahors to StJean GR10 to Irun and Cmino Norde to Bilao and bar the GR10 section I found Le Puy amazing, that said every Camino has to be taken for its own merits and its own beauty.

Next adventure mabey not a Camino but either the GR10 or now really considering the GR5 (i KNOW this is not the forum for talking about this but advice would be great).

Photos ( I carried a full 35mm Nikon with me all day ever day for all my walk) still editing, light very harsh in Spain as a result wide landscapes not what I saw. I should have some nice photos and then what to do with them, will have to make a few euros out of them to fund my walking. May make a post in a Month or so in relation to this.
