I will be arriving Madrid from Atlanta the morning of April 29 then Bus to Pamplona. Is there a bus from Pamplona to SJPD? Last year (Sept.'12, I started in Pamplona and went as far as Burgos) I met some pilgrims at the Madrid airport who were bus-ing to Pamplona and if I had been starting in SJPD I could have shared a taxi with them from Pamplona to SJPD. Maybe the same will happen this year. However if it doesn't I'd like to know of other options.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Maybe. ALSA has bus service for Easter week, then resumes at the beginning of May. You may be a day too early! However, if the Easter week buses are running full, ALSA may continue throughout April. You may have to "wing" it!

Buen camino.

Hola Ed,

The bus company Conda is providing a bus route from Pamplona to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. It's a service intended for pilgrims.

The bus service operates:
From 22nd March until 7th April &
From 1st May until 11th November.

From 8th April until 30th April: does not run!!
From 12th November until 21st March: does not run

It leaves Pamplona (from the main bus station) at 14h every day.
Cost €15.
Tickets can be ordered from Conda's web page or can be bought at the main bus station of Pamplona.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
Thanks. I guess I'll be sharing a taxi as I'll be making that trip to SJPD on April 30. Would you happen to know what kind of weather I can expect going up and over the Pyrenees at that time of year? maybe snow?
