I walked the Camino Ingles years ago and started in el Ferrol. In fact, I think I was one of the earliest users of what is now Johnnie Walker's definitive guide.
But just today I got a suggestion from a Spanish friend who recently walked the Camino Ingles, and he told me that if I ever went back I should start at the wonderful albergue in Covas. Which, turns out, is about 11 kms north of El Ferrol. He says it's a marvelous albergue and that the people that run it will go all out for you.
So a question for Johnnie Walker and the other Camino Ingles fans, has anyone ever been to Covas? It seems it is an official albergue of the Xunta.
