Hi. I'm planning to start the VDLP about 8 or 9 February. Is anyone out there planning a similar date. Would be nice to share the beginning stage or two with some company.

I’ll be starting from Seville on February 3 and would be happy to have some company to walk with on the first couple of stages as well. Are you still planning to start on the 8th or 9th? Anyone else starting in early February?

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Yes, maybe 9th or 10th February ... like to be flexible ... arriving Faro 6th and spending a few days in Tavira ... wdportugal.blogspot.com

I arrive in Seville on 3rd and booked in for a couple of nights. Heading out about 6th I expect. Somewhat flexible .

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Hi Amelia,
I’m limited on time and will need to start on the 3rd so it looks like we will just miss each other by a day or two, but hopefully there will be a few others starting in early February to join you. If I come across any flooded arroyos that might require rerouting I’ll let you know! Buen Camino.

If all goes to plan I may be able to grab a cheap flight and get on the VDLP mid - late Feb.

Any updates on the weather, water obstacles and albergue closures/opening would be greatly appreciated.

Still not sure what mixture of clothing layers to take. Got caught out a bit on the Frances in late March early April 2017 (shorts only and minus 5 mornings on Meseta!).

Buen camino!

Certainly will apprise of notable events/obstacles. I'm packing a mixed bunch of layers, but definitely long pants! Though I can zip off the bottoms...
Buen Camino!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hi all. I will be arriving in Seville on the 3rd of February and starting on the 4th. Hope to meet up with a few others on the way. Have 5 weeks so hope to complete the route.
Buen Camino!

Hi Oravasaari be sure to check out the VldP accommodation listing in the resource section. I think that many of the Albergues will be closed during Feb but you never know. The weather in Feb May be rainy in some areas so you may need some rain gear. I usually walk the route in April and the weather is wonderful. Also check out forum member SYates Via de la Plata Notes as she has walked in the cooler months.

Hi
I'll arrive in Seville on the 6th of February and probably start walking on the 7th (not certain yet), so maybe I'll see some of you along the way.
I'll use the PDF version of Gerald Kellys book ($5 from here) and the accommodation list from this forum

I’m in Seville now and will be starting tomorrow. It’s bright and sunny here but the mornings are cold and will be even more so further inland. Make sure you have some warm layers!

If you want to have the cathedral stamp your credenciale you can bypass the line for individual entry (south side entrance) and ask at the door immediately to the right when entering, before the ticket sales area.
Buen camino!
