Camino Frances fall 2022
I am a Canadian older woman , age 72, walking solo. Planning short stages at least in beginning. Just plan to walk for a month, likely won't finish at Santiago, but plan to enjoy the journey. I plan to stay in private albergues and book ahead. See you on The Camino!!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Hi, and welcome to the forum. If you would like to add your name, date, and starting point to the list of people starting in October, just click HERE, and add a post to the bottom of the thread. A moderator will edit the list to include your name.

You can also see who else is planning to start around the same date.

Brenda16,

You must be very excited as soon you will be on your way.

October/November is a great time to walk with generally golden days and cool nights. Do be aware however that many albergues started to close mid October during earlier, easier years however there was always some place open .

For personal commentary regarding walking several years when over 70 at this time on the CF see my Camino Gazetteer. This also lists my late autumn-winter/kit.

On the CF by mid November it will be cold. On the Meseta the wind can be fierce blowing directly into your face. Hail and snow might occur. Late November 2012 at O Cebreiro the snow was a meter deep. Be prepared.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
