After surviving my first Camino last year, I'm heading back for more! (Big surprise to all you veterans, lol.) Although I'm not thrilled to be out there in August, I AM thrilled to bring my 20-year-old daughter with me, who has only the month of August between summer term and fall term at school. Hopefully Galicia won't be as hot as other areas in Spain; any input from people who have done the Ingles in the summer? I'm also avidly looking for tips on what not to miss. We're hoping to do about 15 km/day.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hi, Becky,

That is so wonderfully terrific that you will be walking with your daughter :) What a Blessing!!!

My wife Jill and I have been looking at walking the Ingles as well. If tentative thoughts evolve into a decision, then it will be October for us. I have been using YouTube videos as a way to pique her interest for the shorter Camino.

It is my " favourite " Camino . I do not have any experience walking in summer ( walked in early spring) ?

Not to miss imho is strolling around Betanzos. Ideal place if you are walking 15 k. is making it your base for two days and use public transport or a taxi to drive you back and forth.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Did mine also in early spring.
But, grew up in Ferrol. Summers, well used to be like that, can be hot on some days. And then some chilly mornings.

Good luck and enjoy.

If you have a day to spend in Ferrol, there is a very interesting Naval Musume in Ferrol. Actually two of them. Both are in the same area.

While not on the Ingles route....Cederia (north of Ferrol) is nice place to visit. Especially for the beaches and the fresh fish.

Riding the FEVE train is once in a life time event. Beautiful.

take some swimming / beach things, or you may regret. The beach at Cabanas on the opposite side of the river to Pontedeume is white sand backed by pine trees, as is the beach at Mino (which if you are walking 15km per day is a good overnight break on the long stage from Pontedeume to Betanzos). Also, the Ingles passes a rather inviting outdoor municipal swimming pool on its way into Sigueiro.

Thank you. Sounds wonderful. We will be leaving Ferrol on Sunday 14 September on our pilgrimage to Santiago.

So, I managed to lose my lovely Tilley hat. Left behind I think, in a shop in Cambre. Going back for it not an option as the place is closed today, Sunday. Am I destined to arrive in Santiago...
Beautiful walking weather on the Camino Ingles today
On one of the FB forums, someone asked about detouring to Fragas do Eume, just outside of Pontedeume, and it looks amazing. Since I'm splitting up Ferrol - Pontedeume into two days (taking the...
