In general, municipal albergues won't allow you to stay more than one night, though they will make exceptions if you are sick or injured. Private albergues set their own rules, and many will let you stay more than one night. You can also get a private room in a hotel, hostal or pensión.Hi there, just wondering.. if a day of rest is needed is it ok to stay more than one night in an albergue or is it best to perhaps move on to a private one? thanks!
Absolutely! In addition to what trecile says, if you want a rest day, it is more restful to have a private room so that you can sleep in and aren’t disturbed by the noise of others packing up and leaving.
awesome! thanks for that... thinking this bod may not appreciate moving long distances each day!In general, municipal albergues won't allow you to stay more than one night, though they will make exceptions if you are sick or injured. I agree with trecile about two short days rather than a day off... I personally found that 42 short days in a row suited me perfectlyRather than taking full rest days I like to do two short days in a row, and it's nice if I stay in a private room the first day so that I can sleep in the second day.
It is okay to spend a second night in an albergue, however almost all of them require that you leave in the morning and come back at noon. Buen Camino!Hi there, just wondering.. if a day of rest is needed is it ok to stay more than one night in an albergue or is it best to perhaps move on to a private one? thanks!
I have been doing that the last couple of Caminos also. The only difference is when I do take a day or two half days I tend to hide in a private room and sleep. Usually I am asleep by 9 and I can still get up early the next day to arrive early on day two and vegetate some more. I have learned how to vegetate even in an albergue.Rather than taking full rest days I like to do two short days in a row, and it's nice if I stay in a private room the first day so that I can sleep in the second day.
