Since Curazon Puro has closed, what is a good option (lodging) for spending the night in Pamplona to get to SJPP the next morning?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
The bus station is not far from the Plaza, so you can pick one in your price category on a site like booking.com

You can stay in an albergue if you want, and meet pilgrims who have just crossed the mountains.

Buen Camino.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I love that you're staying a night in Pamplona.
Enjoy it and see everything, then when you walk, you can either stay at Trinidad de Arre (before Pamplona) or further along.
That puts you "between the stages" and less likely to have issues finding lodging.

As others have mentioned, the bus station is within walking distance of old town, so any place in old town will be good.
If you prefer a private room to the albergue, check booking.com

I stayed at hotel Yoldi which was about 3 blocks from the bus station. Walked over to the Bus station the afternoon I got in and picked up my bus ticket for the next day, made everything easier for me.

was very happy with albergue plaza cathedral ,,,,right opposite the cathedral !!!

I agree with Annie Santiago. Pamplona is a very nice town and I hope you find the time to explore it a bit before catching a bus to SJPP.

(On your return trip you may be less inclined to explore it, since you will be in hiking mode - arrive, shower, wash clothes, maybe journal, etc.)

Buen camino.

Even in Summer, when there are 4 buses daily, the first bus leaves Pamplona at 1000.

So if you want to get to SJPdP in the morning ...

Go to Bayonne. The first train leaves Bayonne at 0745 and arrives at SJPdP 0845.

Even if you can only get to the border at Irun/Hendaye the night before, there are trains from Hendaye early enough to get to Bayonne to catch the 0745.

I'm doing the same thing next month. I taking the train from Madrid and then staying in Pamplona overnight. I made reservations at Hotel Eslava. Several facebook friends recommended it.

I would recommend Eslava as well. It's on the opposite side of town from the bus station but quiet.
