Strangers on the Earth

Last night at the American Pilgrims on the Camino (APOC) Gathering in Ashville, NC we watched the recently released movie “Strangers on the Earth,” a documentary on the Camino Frances. The soundtrack, Bach cello sonatas performed along the way by one of the central characters, “pulled the movie together.” I know, I know... not another Camino movie. But, I really enjoyed it. At the end the director answered many questions. The movie ended with a clothes burning scene at Finistere which transforms to a bonfire celebration filmed at A Coruña. I didn’t understand until the director told us it was a metaphorical ending. Our life is a brief burning ember that eventually rises to the sky and fades. Those who wish to see this movie can find it on iTunes and probably elsewhere.

I supppose the director said "But this was just a movie metaphor, please don't burn clothes in Finisterre, don't pollute a very nice place".

I saw 1 YouTube video that interviewed a Pilgrim carrying his cello on his back. He played concerts in churches all along the way.
