Camino Frances: 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021
During our first camino (2015), my wife developed blisters that changed her gait which progressed to severe knee pain. A camino angel told us about Jacotrans in Carrion de los Condes. The next day she sent her backpack ahead and continued using Jacotrans the rest of our camino. It worked great. She used Jacotrans for our second camino as well. The process seemed tedious at times. Each afternoon we'd call, told them where we were staying, where we were heading the next day (town and albergue). Then we'd complete the envelope, put money inside, then attach it to her backpack and leave in the lobby the next morning.

Early last year, when planning our third camino, I checked the Jacotrans website and learned that I could make reservations for multiple days or the entire camino. Their website was a bit clunky, but I found out I could send Jacotrans our camino hiking plan - simply list date, town and albergue we were staying in and destination town and albergue for the following day.

Jacotrans sent an email confirming our hiking plan and gave us a 25% discounted price for entire camino. We paid in advance and they sent us a PDF attachment with a bar code and reservation number. We laminated the card, attached it to her backpack and that completed the process. Each morning we left her backpack in the lobby. Worked great! So now we're planning our fourth camino for Sept-Oct this year. I've made advance reservations in private albergues so just sent them our hiking plan and once again we receive a discount.

Some don't like to make advance albergue reservations and some prefer to carry their own backpacks. This works well for us and removes a hassle if you prefer to make advance reservations not only for albergues, but the backpack transport as well. Bob
