I am doing a trial pack today for my departure on 23rd of this month. I've already taken out most of the extras :). One question about private accommodations in 1 and 2 star hotels, pensiones, etc. Do they typically offer shampoo and soap? Thanks. I know I can buy these along the way, but I am curious if they are generally available in these types of private accommodations.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Soap is almost always provided; shampoo may be. As with everything it is best to be prepared with what you need.

Buen Camino,

Margaret Meredith

Advice posted here before but wirth repeating.

In the non private albergues you might find that the wardens have a stock of stuff accidently left behind.

Hi! I've always found private rooms well provided for with soap, shampoo and shower gel etc, but no toothpaste or brushes etc. Private rooms are great for...privacy and clean sheets, but do your clothes washing when you stay in the albergues, which are much better equiped. They have machines, and usually can supply washing powder etc. Then go out the next day and get sweaty and smelly again! Buen Camino!
